Scotland vs Australia: Blind Optimism

As reported by the BBC both Phil Godman and Nathan Hines seem to think Scotland can win against the Australians.
However almost all of the attributes they credit the Australians with – game breakers behind the pack, efficiency around the collision, few mistakes – are missing from Scotland’s game at the moment.
As I mentioned yesterday, if Scotland are going to win the game they need to revamp the game plan. They cannot rely on route one from a solid set piece. The rock solid defences of the modern game simply do not allow that approach to work anymore. There has to be something else.
Godman says: “We need to stop their go-forward. They have got such threatening backs, especially Matt Giteau, who attacks the line, and he can be devastating with front-foot ball. So, we’ll be looking to get a few big hits in and we’ll have to work really hard.”
Take a leaf out of Gits’ book, Phil. Please?
